SHILLONG: Meghalaya’s Rupert Wanlambok Lynrah is all set to compete with 20 other fashion designers and weavers in the second edition of North East India Fashion Week in Itanagar.
“The event is a platform to foray into the competitive field of fashion design by showcasing our creativity and talent,” Lynrah, who participated in one of the promotional shows in the run up to the event in Guwahati recently, said.
It may be mentioned that Lynrah has been in the fashion business for the past 12 years, but counts his near seven-year stint at retailer Splash (Contd on P-5)

His collections at NEIFW represent his ethnic identity and outlook.
“It’s a collection where East meets West. I have tried to bridge the gap between the traditional and modern, thus creating a hybrid that fits all. It’s like taking your tradition and embellishing it to give it a modern identity.”
