SHILLONG: Police arrested four HNLC cadres with two AK 47 rifles, pistols and unspecified number of bombs on the Shillong-Pynursla road on Friday evening.
According to police sources, the cadres sneaked into Meghalaya from Bangladesh and the intelligence inputs helped to arrest the cadres.
However, the motive of the cadres, who entered the state, is yet to be ascertained. Following the arrest of the cadres, security in and around Shillong was beefed up. Strict checking of vehicles was visible late in the evening on Friday in different parts of the city
