SHILLONG: Yet again, the Congress candidate Dikkanchi Shira is in trouble as she continued to campaign beyond the prescribed time limit of 4 pm on Saturday, the last day of campaign to the by-poll to Tura Lok Sabha seat at Kalaichar in South West Garo Hills.
The violation to the order of Election Commission has prompted the election official and Deputy Commissioner of Ampati to issue a notice to the candidate.
Following the incident, a team which was rushed to the spot by the Election Department had escorted the candidate to Ampati. Confirming the developments, the Chief Electoral Officer Frederick Kharkongor said that the candidate went on campaigning till 6 pm, and hence notice was issued to her seeking explanation.
