SHILLONG: The East Khasi Hills Police conducted an awareness programme at Madan Lyngdoh, Nongkynrih under Pynursla police station on Monday.M Kharkrang, Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills was the resource person for the programme which was attended by around 300 people from the village. During the course of the programme, Kharkrang touched base on issues like victimisation in the name of witchcraft, immediate reporting of rape cases, ill effects of drugs, ATM frauds etc. He also stressed the need to set up VDP in the villages, besides talking about the illegality of taking law into one’s own hands.
The awareness programmes are being organised to reach out to the public with an aim to make policing more efficient.
