Morigaon district admn prohibits victory procession

Morigaon: The Morigaon District Administration in Assam has promulgated prohibitory order prohibiting victory procession and rally in the district after declaration of Assembly election results on May 19.
The prohibitory order will come into force with immediate effect and continue to remain in force until further notice, a press release issued by the district administration said.
The order issued ex parte was promulgated under Section 144 Cr P C prohibiting any kind of procession rally and victory procession rally in the district without prior permission from the competent authority and route permit. The order has been imposed in view of apprehension of breach of public peace and tranquility due to victory procession or rally by winning candidates resulting in inconvenience to public. (PTI)
