SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya on Tuesday said that the earlier interim order to KHADC to monitor the functioning of Syiemship by the acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem Ricky Nelson Syiem will continue.
The High Court issued this order while responding to a plea submitted by the ousted Syiem of Hima Mylliem Latho Manik Syiem seeking an interim relief.
Ricky was appointed  as the acting Syiem by the Council after suspending Latho.
In the order on May 2, the single bench of the High Court of Meghalaya had ordered that G. Syiemiong, Joint Secretary of the Executive Committee, Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), in addition to his other duties, shall be given responsibilities of ensuring proper administration of the Syiemship by the acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem.
When the case came up for hearing on Tuesday,  the counsel for the respondents was  granted time for filing affidavit for objection in the main petition.
