Lapang awards open defecation free, sustainability certificates

SHILLONG: Chief Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, D.D. Lapang handed over Open Defecation Free (ODF) certificates to nine villages and sustainability certificate to four villages in a programme held on the premises of the Plasha Nongbah Government L.P School in Plasha village on May 19. The programme was organized by the District Coordinator, Swachh Bharat Mission, Umling C&RD Block.
The nine villages conferred with ODF certificates include Rongjari, Plasha, Mawryngkang, Nongagang, Ingjal-B, Umrang Umjaren, Nongthymmai Mathan, Pisamhuru and Umtyrlen Nongtluh whereas the four villages– Umsawnoldhi, Kbet, Dulongnar and Khuswai, were conferred with sustainability certificates.
Speaking on the occasion, Lapang congratulated the villages for their achievement.
