New Delhi: After garnering a landslide win in the Tura Lok Sabha by-election on Thursday, Conrad K. Sangma of the National People’s Party (NPP) on Sunday met BJP president Amit Shah here.
Conrad is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
“It was a courtesy call,” Conrad     told The Shillong Times later. “My party NPP is part of the BJP led NDA government and the BJP supported us during the by-election,” he said.
Speculation is rife that the newly elected MP from Meghalaya will find a place in Modi’s ministry. Considering his qualifications, past experience and age he could find a place in the Union ministry when it goes for a reshuffle.
Incidentally, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma is also here. MPCC President D.D. Lapang is arriving here on Monday and both are likely to meet top AICC leaders to discuss the aftermath of the poll debacle.
