Dead girl clears exam, family laments

SHILLONG: She is no more with them, but the family members relished her memories when they came to know that she passed the SSLC examination.
The 19-year-old victim of rape and murder at Upper Shillong passed the SSLC examination, the result of which was declared by MBoSE on Wednesday.
The body of the victim was found on March 17 midnight inside a jungle close to her residence.
During the visit to the residence of the victim’s family at 4½ Mile, Upper Shillong on Wednesday, the brother and the mother of the victim told this reporter that their dear one Shailina Kharrymba who appeared from St Gabriel’s Higher Secondary Higher Secondary School Upper Shillong passed the examination, but expressed sadness that she is no more with them.
Soon after 10 am when the result was out, the curious family checked the MBoSE website and found that she emerged successful in the examination though death had separated her from them.
Now, the family wants speedy justice to the victim as they consider that this will only bring some solace to them.
