Bangladeshis attack Garo Hills residents

SHILLONG: In an incident which raises questions on the security scenario in the border areas of the State, as many as 10 Bangladeshi nationals attacked two Garo hills residents when they were on their way from Baghmara to Tura via international border road near Domdoma-Rasnagre near Sibbari.
In the FIR lodged with the officer in charge of Baghmara police station, the victims Riyan Ashley Marak and Jim N. Arengh said that on May 18 at around 2:30 p.m  unknown Bangladeshi nationals numbering around ten pelted stones on them while they were travelling on a scooter from Baghmara to Tura. “The pelting of stones was severe, but we escaped unhurt,” the duo said while urging the police to initiate a probe.
