Popularise NDA govt schemes in State: Modi

SHILLONG: Aiming for a high in the 2018 Assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the BJP Meghalaya unit to popularize Central government schemes in every nook and corner of the State.
Quoting the Prime Minister during his one hour meeting with a 40 member state delegation of BJP on May 27 evening at the State Convention Centre here, party president Shibun Lyngdoh said on Sunday that the Prime Minister wanted the state BJP leaders and workers to spread the various initiatives undertaken by the BJP led NDA government in the last two years.
“The Prime Minister told us that the schemes launched by the Centre should go to the common man for their benefits and then only our dreams in 2018 will be fulfilled and in this regard he asked us to go to the people from May 27 to June 15 to spread the benefits of the schemes,” Lyngdoh said.
According to Lyngdoh, the schemes including Jan Dhan Yojana (financial inclusion) and Mudra Yojana, which offers loans of up to Rs 10 lakh at low rate of interest, and Atal Pension Yojana among others, will be popularized by the party in the coming days.
The BJP state leader said that since the Congress led State government will not bother to popularize the Central schemes, it will be the duty of each and every party worker to inform the people about the benefits they can reap by availing the central schemes.
Lyngdoh, however, assured the support of the party should the State government decide to properly implement the various schemes, including ‘Mission Football’ with funds availed from the Centre.
