TURA: The All Kharkutta Village Employment Council Development Association (AKVECDA) has submitted a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of North Garo Hills against the  Block Development Officer for deliberately withholding  their MGNREGS wages.
As per their complaint to the DC the VECs of the area along with NGOs had organized a meeting on May 3 in which a poster campaign was also conducted to their express unhappiness over the delay in the payment of wages which was later released to the media in a statement.
This, they claimed had angered the BDO who is now permanently withholding their wages.
The AKVECDA has appealed to the Deputy Commissioner concerned to look into the matter and to address their grievances at the earliest.
