TURA: West Garo Hills police appears to have made a breakthrough into the mystery surrounding the murder of a teenage boy who was found strung on a tree on May 26 at Horipur village of Rajabala following the arrest of an auto rickshaw driver on Sunday.
Police picked up Sahirul Islam (22) following crucial leads obtained during the murder investigation of teen Joshibur Rahman (16) who disappeared a day after he had successfully cleared the state’s Class X SSLC examinations.
Joshibur had gone out with his friends to celebrate their success story on that fateful evening but did not return home. His lifeless body was found that same night battered and strung on a tree with his hands and legs tied.
The arrested auto rickshaw driver was picked up from Horipur, the same village where the victim hailed from. He has been remanded to ten days police custody by a court in west Garo Hills.
