GHADC female staff allegedly assaulted by agitators

SHILLONG: An employee of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) was allegedly assaulted and abused during the strike called by GHADC employees on April 27.
Sweetie Ch Momin, LDA, Accounts Department, lodged a complaint that on April 27 around 1 PM, during the strike called by GHADC employees in protest against non-payment of their salaries, one Chris Jeni Ch Marak, SI of Taxation, along with one Barjilla, UDA Taxation, GHADC, accompanied by other male persons, dragged her outside her office room, assaulted and abused her and also threatened her with dire consequences.
Investigation is on in the case, police said.
