Suicide
A man identified as Chenistar Bamon (38) of Nongryngkoh village under Garampani Outpost was allegedly committed suicide.
His body was found hanging at his residence in the village
One killed in road mishap
A person identified as Md. Reyas Ali (36) died after the vehicle which he was driving fell in to a deep gorge near Jowai on the Jowai Amlarem Dawki road.
According to Police the incident took place on Tuesday night but the vehicle was spotted on Wednesday morning. The occupant, Susanto Das of Nongtalang village sustained serious injuries.
In another incident, one vehicle (ML-05N-1131) knocked down Riborlang Syiem (20) at 20th Mile, Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi on May 31.  As a result, the victim sustained injuries and admitted at Civil Hospital, Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.
On June 1 at around 10.50 pm, one truck (ML-05B-9103) dashed against one Tata Nano car (AS-01-7547) at Jorabat GS Road, Ri Bhoi. As a result, three occupants of the Tata Nano sustained injuries and were admitted at PHC Byrnihat.  After the incident, driver of the truck fled away.
Assault
One Dabahlangki Dkhar of Mookyniang, Khliehtyrshi lodged a complaint to Jowai Police that one Chongki Rymbai assaulted his mother, Medris Rymbai near Khliehtyrshi PHC as a resulted she sustained grievous injury and has been admitted at Jowai District Hospital, Ialong. The accused person was arrested.
One Sanowar Bibi lodged a complaint that on May 24 at around 5 pm, four persons Md. Chairman Ali, Md. Solemon Hussain, Md. Mujappor Ali and Mozarot Ali assaulted her causing injuries to her.
Theft cases
The in-charge of the KJP Synod Assembly book room at Iawmusiang Jowai, B Tongper lodged a police complaint that on the night of May 27 unknown miscreants broke into the book room through ventilation and stole away Rs 9000 and the iron safe containing Rs 5000.
On May 30 at around 6.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one tyre of a vehicle (ML-05K-8967) belonging to Phibanlin Sun parked at Woodland Hospital, Dhankheti, Shillong.On June 1, residents of RR Colony, Rynjah, apprehended one Sudeep Dam while committing theft in the residence of Danny Shylla and handed him over to Police. Police arrested another four persons, Sunil Sinha, Anup Saikia, Rongjule Sunar and Hari Joshi for their involvement in the case.
On June 1, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Santosh Kumar at Kench’s Trace, Shillong and stole gold ornaments valued around Rs. 2 lakhs, ATM card and driving licence.
On May 30 night, unidentified miscreants broke into the office of DTO, West Khasi Hills at Nongstoin and stole the office papers.
Violation of NGT order
Police at Phramer Traffic cell has on Sunday night detected one coal loaded truck (ML04A-8034).
The truck was driven by one Prosper Rabon of Mukhap village and the coal owner was identified as Lambaitmi Suchiang of Mowtyrchiah village, West Jaintia Hills.
Police arrested both the persons.
Attempt to rape
On May 27 at around 4.30 pm, one Chabarles Ryngksai allegedly attempted to rape one minor girl at Umkrem village in East Khasi Hills.
Woman unconscious
On June 1 around 8.50 pm, one unidentified woman was found lying unconscious at Police Bazar. Later she was shifted to Civil Hospital.
