Editor,
Apropos to the heading above, we the aggrieved trainees both senior and junior cadre courses at the 2nd MLA BN, Goeragre Tura Training Centre would like to express our views through your esteemed daily. The service cadre courses started on December 7, 2015 for a period of 45 days which was due to be completed on January 22, 2016. The training, including the usual Firing Test (UFT), was completed on 14-15 January, 2016. We have been closed for (L&O) duty during the South Asian Games from January 28, 2016 till February 17, 2016. Till date no results have come up even after a lapse of 5 months. May we mention here that our colleague N K Banshanlang Chyne of Jowai DEF who had completed the course along with us had been discharged from the Training Centre vide Memo No. BN/2nd MLP/A-81/ 2016-2532-37 dated May 30, 2016 because he fell sick after completion of the training including the Firing Test (UFT), without being given a fair chance for explanation. We feel this is unjustified. Similarly, the Junior cadre course of constable for promotion to the rank of LNK/NK which was conducted in the noted training center i.e., 1st MLP BN Mawiong Shillong and 2nd MLP Bn were also aggrieved. The result of the trainees of 1st MLP BN was declared. However, the results of the trainees of 2nd MLP BN is kept pending till date. We therefore request the Police Headquarters to look into the matter so that justice is given to all. Moreover, the presence of ABI, Jonardhan A.P and ABSI Ramasavak Thakur in the Training Centre created inconvenience to all the trainees at 2nd MLP BN Training Centre. They should be summoned from 2nd MLP BN and posted to other units.

The pothole and the PM
Editor,
The vicious pot hole at the bottom of the Lachumiere road ( coming from passport office)which had been causing massive traffic jams and which had been ignored by the PWD for nearly a year now, has suddenly been filled and repaired all because of ‘Modi Magic’ – yes, if the P.M. had not visited Shillong, that pot hole would have still been there and this is a pointer to the efficiency of the government. If it requires the visit of the Prime Minister to fill up a mere pot hole then no wonder most of the many important government projects do not get off the ground – being more important than a pot hole, perhaps these projects are waiting for a visit from someone much more powerful than the P.M. before they can take off! Hence the reason for the long long wait?
Yours etc.,
