BSF troops seize cattle

SHILLONG: Acting on a tip off, the BSF troops of BOP Balughat deployed in South West Garo Hills seized a over a dozen cattle from the bordering area.
The special ambush party of the BSF laid a trap while some smugglers along with cattle were proceeding towards Bangladesh through a thickly forested area.
After thorough search 16 cattle were seized from the Indo-Bangladesh border. However the cattle carriers/smugglers managed to flee taking advantage of darkness and thick foliage.
A BSF statement informed that in addition, In addition, 75 more cattle, aroun 92.65 Cft of logs, 1311 bottles of liquor, and other contraband items worth more than Rs 21.8 lakh was seized in the lst two weeks whiel they were being smuggled into Bangladesh.
