SHILLONG: The Core Group for Tibetan Cause, an apex coordinating body of national level for the cause of Tibetan and Tibet freedom in collaboration with Shri Aurobindo Ashram and Asian Confluence will celebrate the 81st birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama here on June 6.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, the Core Group said that it was for the first time that Dalai Lama’s birthday is being celebrated publicly in the Northeastern region.
The people from all Northeastern states are expected to participate in the event.
The day-long celebration will include speeches on ‘Peace and Environment of Himalayan region’ by eminent speakers, photo exhibition on life of Dalai Lama and cultural show by the Tibetan artistes settled in different parts of the Northeast among others.
