Minor girl abandoned in forest after failed rape bid

SHILLONG: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly abandoned in a forest area after she resisted attempts of a man to sexually assault her in West Garo Hills on recently.
According to police, the accused one Alphin D. Sangma took the girl to a forest between Lower Sunny Hills and Sangsanggre in West Garo Hills.
The accused then allegedly attempted to sexually assault her but when the girl resisted he tied her hands and left her in the forest.
An FIR has been registered but no arrest has been made so far.
