NEHU research work on parasite information

SHILLONG: Prof. Veena Tandon, erstwhile Professor at NEHU, Shillong and presently NASI Senior Scientist Platinum Jubilee Fellow at Biotech Park, Lucknow  and her team successfully carried out research works on “Northeast India Helminth Parasite Information Database (NEIHPID): Knowledge Base for Helminth Parasites”.
The research work, which covers lifetime contributions of  Prof.  Tandon, which covers a complete spectrum of worm infections prevalent in animals of food value (e.g., livestock, poultry, frogs, fishes and crabs) in the northeastern region.
The same has been formatted into a website (www.nepiac.nehu.ac.in) for use by the research community and society at large towards better understanding of the etiology of food-borne tropical parasitic diseases that implicate worm infections, which is important for the development of interventions and effective control strategies.
