SHILLONG: The interim stay against supply of sugar by the state government will continue till the next hearing as per the order of the High Court of Meghalaya on Tuesday.
During the hearing of the pending case filed by the lowest bidder for sugar supply, the High Court observed that “interim order if any shall continue till the next date”.
When the matter was taken up, P. Bhattacharjee, counsel for the petitioner sought further two weeks’ time to file the rejoinder affidavit, to which  H.S. Thangkhiew, senior counsel objected and submitted that the matter is urgent and needs to be settled on or before  June 30.
Considering the submission advanced by the senior counsel, one weeks’ time was granted to file the rejoinder affidavit.
The matter will be heard after one week for  rejoinder affidavit and further order.
