Missing minor girl’s body recovered from Umiam lake

SHILLONG: Police recovered the body of a minor girl from Umiam lake on Wednesday, two days after she went missing from Jhalupara. Police said that the minor girl, a student of Hindu Mission, Shillong had gone missing on June 13. Police said that the deceased was a resident of Barapathar and according to her parents, the girl did not return home after school.
Police are yet to confirm rape angle into the incident and are waiting for the post mortem report.
