ODF status for EKH village

SHILLONG: Iewrynghep village under Mawkynrew C&RD Block in East Khasi Hills will be accorded open defecation free (ODF) status on Friday. East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, Peter S. Dkhar will hand over the award to Ïewrynghep village during a function to be held in the village on Friday.Ïewrynghep village was declared as ODF by the BDO of Mawkynrew C&RD Block, W.B. Marbañiang in December, 2015. The construction of toilets at Ïewrynghep was taken up under the erstwhile Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) of the Central government, which later came to be known as Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA).
