New Delhi:  An Assamese student was allegedly robbed by three men who forcefully entered her paying guest accommodation in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area.
According to the victim, the robbers entered the PG facility for women in Kishangarh locality around 10.15 AM yesterday on the pretext of seeking donations.
Once the residents agreed, the accused forcefully entered the flat and snatched the purse of the complainant containing Rs 2,000. She alleged that the accused then threatened the three women present in the room that they would come back to take more cash. “As they left, they threatened us saying they would come again and asked us to keep more cash ready. We called up the police immediately and a police team came to investigate the matter,” the complainant said, adding that one of the students was so traumatised that she left for Assam on Saturday.
The women are students of Mass Communication from a university in Assam and had come to the national capital for internship.
The police reached the PG facility after receiving a PCR call from the complainant but no FIR has been registered in the case.
Meanwhile, the incident has triggered panic among people from the north-east community in the area. Senior police officials of the district could not be reached despite several attempts. (PTI)
