SHILLONG: As many as 3,541 theses were supplied by the tainted CMJ University to the students across the country.
An official source said that as per the copies of charge-sheet supplied to the all the accused persons on June 9, over 3,000 persons who enrolled with CMJ got the degrees which, however were found to be fake as per the investigation of the police.
Several hundreds of bundles of files, theses, and other related documents were seized by police as part of the investigation. Those who were charge-sheeted include Chancellor of CMJ, CM Jha, his wife Indrani Jha, their sons, Gopal Jha and Govind Jha, Registrar Mrinal Kanti Deb, Deputy Registrar Premlal Rai, former registrar Tilok Das Gupta, University Director Manjit Kaur Kaushal, University Human Resource Manager Juban Kharpuri, Chairman Apex e-Learning (Bangalore) Dhanwant Singh Matharoo, and CMJ University employee (examination department) Asifa Nongrum.
