NONGSTOIN: A nine year old was allegedly gang raped by her uncle and three of his friends at his residence at Proin in West Khasi Hills.
The rapists have been identified as Wanborskhem Khardewsaw, Kliaswos Shangbai, Albinius Thabah and the victim’s uncle Kesarlan L. Marshillong.
The heinous crime was committed seven months back but the incident came to light only recently when the victim revealed about it to her family.
The rapists had threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone.
The minor revealed that the incident occurred in November, 2015 when she had gone to her uncle’s (accused) house to play with her cousins. She was forcibly taken to a room by her uncle who raped her along with three of his friends.
As soon as the matter came to light, the four alleged rapists surrendered before Nongstoin police on June, 18, 2016.
The family of the victim has filed an FIR and interrogation of the accused was on, police said.
