NEDA to ensure development initiatives in NE: Conrad

SHILLONG: NPP national president Conrad Sangma on Thursday said non Congress ruled states will try to bring maximum development to the North East through the newly formed North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA).
A meeting of NEDA was held in Guwahati on Wednesday attended by the NPP and the UDP, besides other non Congress political parties in the region.
“The cause of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), is more development oriented .The overall stand of the Centre towards the North East will be reflected in our approach, keeping in mind the Act East policy,” Sangma said.
While terming the formation of NEDA and the first meeting as historic, Sangma said there is a clear vision on the part of the alliance.
“The likeminded parties are committed to achieving various development initiatives and we are in a position to deliver as NEDA consists of important leaders from the North East,” he added.
