Programme
The Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya Branch, will organize a first aid & disaster management programme in collaboration with Home Guards & Civil Defence at Laitnongrim Sec. School, Mawphlang Block in East Khasi Hills on June 29- 30 from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Function
The closing function of the silver jubilee celebration of Seng Samla Madan Laban and Riat Laban will be held on Saturday at MSCC ground, Madan Laban, at 3 PM.
Workshop
A workshop on solid and liquid waste management for municipalities and other stakeholders under Swachh Bharat Mission was held on June 23 at Circuit House, Tura. The workshop was organized by the Directorate of Urban Affairs.

Birth anniv

Training
The Department of Botany, Sankardev College, Shillong, organised a one day training programme on mushroom cultivation recently on the college premises. I.R. Marak from Agriculture Training Centre, South West Khasi Hills, was the resource person at the programme.
Plea to Lapang
Ex-party members of the primary unit of the Nongstoin Block Congress met MPCC president D.D. Lapang on June 23 to apprise him of the authoritative nature of former Congress MDC and district president Gabriel Wahlang. They demanded re-organization of the NBCC to save the party from the blushes in the 2018 elections.
Invitation
ETPL, a local skill development centre from Meghalaya was invited by the National Institute of Advance Studies for a two day national consultative meet on vocational skill, technical and higher education, held on June 13 and 14 at IISc, Bangalore. Alfae D. Marbaniang (Project lead) from ETPL (India) gave a presentation on skill development projects and initiatives done by ETPL for the youth of Meghalaya and the status of vocational skill education in Meghalaya.
Statistics Day
National Statistics Day will be celebrated on June 29 by the National Sample Survey in collaboration with the Directorate of Economics & Statistics on the theme ‘Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare’ through an awareness programme at Raitong conference hall at 10 AM.
Biennial convention
The All India Central Excise Inspectors’ Association, Shilong circle, is hosting its biennial convention on June 24 and 25.
Yoga camp
A five day free Yoga camp was organised from June 17-21 by ISKCON and RR Colony Welfare Society under the supervision of Subhashis Kar, founder president.
