Heroin seized
Police have arrested one drug peddler identified as Romeo Synrem from Iawmusiang, Jowai and recovered four grams of heroin from his possession.
Two arrested for girl’s abduction
A woman lodged a complaint that on June 23 at about 8.30 pm, one Dicky Nongsiang and his accomplice abducted her daughter from Riangdo. In this connection, Police arrested the accused and one Khrawbor Mawsor.
One fatally knocked down
One person succumbed to his injuries after he was knocked down by an unknown vehicle at Wahiajer village in West Jaintia Hills. The incident happened on June 22 at around 8.30 pm, when the vehicle knocked down Leo Shylla (27) who succumbed to his injuries.
Rape attempt
A woman lodged a complaint that on June 18 at about 4 am, one Aplin Sangma @ Wasingpa attempted to rape her in her house at Kama Angre village in South Garo Hills. However, when she raised an alarm the accused fled away. On June 20, the accused went to her residence and attempted to attack her with a ‘dao’.
Six injured as truck falls into gorge
Six persons sustained injures when the truck in which they were travelling fell in a gorge in Pilangkata, Ri Bhoi district. The incident happened on Saturday when the dumper truck fell into a gorge at Nongspung village. All the six occupants have been shifted to Guwahati Medical College for treatment.
Vehicle stolen
On June 26 at around 1 am, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero Camper (ML-10-9037) belonging to Johnny Syiem from his residence at Lum Nongrim, Byrnihat.
Theft
On June 25, unknown miscreants broke into the Agriculture quarter allotted to Santimon Suting at Risa Colony, Shillong and stole one TV set, a laptop computer, three cell phones, one i-pod and clothes.
Dralin Synnah lodged a complaint that on June 25 around 3 pm, unknown miscreants broke into her house at Lower Lachumiere, and attempted to commit theft and also burn down household items.
Threat
On June 22 at around 9 am, one Gretbal Sangma threatened Pudit Sangma with dire consequences at Anangpara village (SWGH).
Missing
On June 27 Philip Rymbai lodged a complaint that his employee, Bisu Karma was found missing from his house at Moosniang Rim village (EJH) since May 15.
Accidents
On June 27 at about 8.30 am, one Hyundai Santro car (number not known) dashed against one motorcycle (ML-05F-8582) at Mawiong Rim, Shillong. As a result, one female pillion rider sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On June 26 at about 4.30 pm, one motorcycle (AS-02G-5839) ridden by Malsawthong Hmar (21 years) knocked down Kobi Tonglor (34 years) at Madanrting. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Fraud
An employee of a bank in Tura did not deposit a huge amount collected from the depositors. Sujit Paul Choudhury, CEO, Tura Urban Cooperative Bank lodged a complaint that the employee of the bank, Monoj Kumar Das, did not deposit Rs. 3,39,600 collected from the intending depositors of the bank.
