Theft cases on the rise in city

SHILLONG: Theft cases are on the rise in Shillong city and several cases of stealing from the residences have been reported in the past one week.
On June 27 at about 4 am, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Alok Dutta at Lower Lumparing, Shillong and stole jewelries valued around Rs. 80,000.
In a similar incident, on June 27, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Sabitri Deka at P&T Colony, Nongrim Hills, Shillong and stole cash Rs. 15,000, bank passbooks and fixed deposit certificate. Another incident was reported on June 26 evening, when unknown miscreants broke into J.K.R Guest House at Lower Cleve Colony, Shillong and stole one TV valued around Rs. 28,000.
