Chennai: A 22-year-old worker was arrested in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday in connection with the suicide of a girl after her morphed obscene picture was uploaded on social media.
Vinupriya committed suicide after a complaint was lodged with police in Salem and subsequent inaction by the police.
The arrested man was identified as Suresh.
Police also suspended a head constable who had allegedly demanded and accepted a mobile phone as bribe from the girl’s family to investigate the case when they came to lodge a complaint.
Suresh was apprehended after tracking the internet protocol address. (IANS)
