NEEPCO denies allegation of mismanagement

SHILLONG: NEEPCO has denied the allegations of Joint Forums and associations that the management is victimizing any employees on whimsical ground.
NEEPCO Corporate Communication Officer PK Dutta said that there is no case of unprecedented steps of transfer and suspension of employee without rhymes and reason as alleged by a section of union and association.
“It is as per prevailing practices that transfers are in the interest of the Corporation keeping in view the organization’s requirement, administrative expediency and on the request of the employee on personal ground.
Similarly, suspension is rarely resorted to which is based on the gravity of misconduct and in the interest of the organization,” he said.
Stating that the organization has not indulged in wasteful expenditure in Guest House facilities, he said that the question of using Guest House at Shillong by functional Directors and CMD does not arise as Shillong is the Headquarters of their posting and they reside in their own accommodation, adding that the Directors and CMD are using Guest House facilities at Guwahati,  Kolkata and New Delhi, whenever they visit these places and there is always a reasonable expenditure on their board and lodging.
NEEPCO also said that there is no instance of misuse of power by the Executive Director (Security) and he has been extensively visiting Project sites resolving complicated law and order problem and industrial relations scenario in the organization.
The NEEPCO official also said that he has visited 19 Project Sites so far since his joining in NEEPCO and he is a Brigadier level army officer who is on deputation to NEEPCO. “He is well acquainted with all security aspects of all the Projects and Establishments of NEEPCO and he has been successful in addressing the issues promptly,” he said.
NEEPCO also clarified that investment for new project in Arunachal Pradesh was the management’s decision with the approval of the Ministry to go for the investment in the project.
