JOWAI: One biker Phranki Tangliang, an army personnel of the Assam Regiment succumbed to his injury while one pillion rider, NEIGRIMS security personnel, Khrehkynsai Shylla was critically injured after a motorbike (ML 05 J 7437) in which they were travelling from Iooksi toward Jowai collided with a night super (AS 01DD 1157) coming from the opposite side at Bihsyntiew, Mihmyntdu in West Jaintia Hills on Friday afternoon.
Sources informed that Tangliang has came home to attend the cremation ceremony of his father, M Shadap held on Thursday.
Immediately, after the collision, local commuters rushed the duo to Ialong District Hospital Jowai in a critical condition.
Relative tried to shift both the victim to Shillong. Unfortunately on reaching Ummulong, Tangliang succumbed due to internal injuries while his friend is now in Shillong Hospital for better medical treatment.
The bus driver fled away and still absconding.
