TURA: The opposition to the appointments of two non-tribal MDCs to top posts in the GHADC is growing with the A’chik Youth Council (AYC) also questioning the appointments and calling for the cancelation of the same by the ruling GHPA.
Taking a dig at the NPP and the GNC, both of which are in the GHPA coalition, the AYC questioned the appointments of non-tribal MDCs – S.G. Esmatur Mominin and Sofior Rahman – as Chairman of the Planning Board and Bakijai Advisory Committee respectively.
The AYC urged both the Garo Hills Progressive Alliance (GHPA) and the GHADC opposition to set aside their differences and to work together for the protection and preservation of the rights of the indigenous A’chik people.
