One held for stealing cash, cell phones

JOWAI: West Jaintia Hills Police have arrested one person identified as Kynton Kynjing of Panaliar Jowai
For his alleged involvement in opening the lock of a vehicle and stealing Rs 20,000 in cash and 16 number Spice Mobile handsets worth Rs 44,311.
His accomplice, Teibor Rymbai of Salaroh, Jowai, is on the run.
Kynjing was first nabbed by members of VDP Phramer and was handed over to police. On being interrogated, Kynjing revealed that he and his friend had committed the theft.
Earlier, one Dharmendra Kumar, sales executive of Spice Company, had lodged a complaint with Jowai Police that unknown miscreants had opened the lock of his vehicle parked near Thomas Jones Synod College, Iawmusiang Jowai and committed the theft on Sunday at around 7 PM.
Police are on the lookout for the absconding accomplice.
