SHILLONG: HSPDP president Ardent Basaiawmoit, whose party was not invited for the meeting of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) held in Guwahati on Wednesday, has said that the party does not want to be part of this alliance.
‘We were not invited for the meeting perhaps due to our stand against any pre- poll understanding”, Basaiawmoit said on Wednesday.
According to Basaiawmoit, the party does not wish to be part of any pre- poll alliance being worked by other political parties in the state.
“As of now, our plan is to contest alone in the 2018 Assembly polls”, Basaiawmoit said. He, however, said that the party wants to have post-poll alliance depending on the outcome of the polls.
The HSPDP leader said that the party was currently focusing on strengthening its base all over the state.
