SHILLONG:  Bangladesh has denied presence of members of any North East militant outfits in that country.
Stating this here on Friday, the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Shahriar Alam said that there was no truth in the report that the militants based in Bangladesh were planning to launch an attack on India.
Alam’s statement contradicts New Delhi’s claim about the presence of North-East militants’ camps in Bangladesh.
Last month, BSF submitted a fresh list of Indian insurgent camps in Bangladesh to the Border Guards Bangladesh (BBG) during the Border Coordination Conference. tReacting to a query about the coordination between the two countries after the recent terrorist attacks in Bangladesh, Alam said that India and Bangladesh have fantastic relations and Bangladesh had helped India in resolving security issues in the bordering states.
He also said that South East Asia is the fastest growing   region in  the world and both the countries would work together to improve bilateral ties further.
“The message is clear from our Prime Minister that as far as connectivity and people to people contact is concerned, we will go back to  pre-1965  days  and lot of routes are now being connected by railways,” he said.
When asked about recent eviction notice issued by the Dhaka administration to  700 Khasi people residing in that country, Alam denied having knowledge about it.
