Tirot Sing death anniversary
The Syiem of Hima Nongkhlaw and his Dorbar will be observing the 181th death anniversary of Tirot Sing Syiem on July 18 at Mairang at 11 AM instead of the actual date of July 17 as it falls on a Sunday.

Boost to NPP
Publicity Secretary of the Chokpot Block NPP, Wilnath T. Sangma has informed that Livensing T. Sangma, a former leader of the Garo National Council (GNC) has joined the NPP. As per a release issued here, Sangma joined the NPP on Thursday along with 28 others.

Request against driving
The Run Meghalaya Association, organisers of the Sohra Marathon, has requested the general public to avoid driving towards Sohra from 5 AM to 12 non on Sunday due to the marathon and to limit traffic congestion along the way.
