SHILLONG: The Ri Lum Social Welfare Organization (RSWO) has opposed enrolment for the Aadhaar card in the State.
This was decided in a meeting convened by RSWO in collaboration with Meghalaya People’s Committee on Aadhaar (MPCA) recently. KSU general secretary Auguster Jyrwa said NPR is an instrument that would pave the way for influx in the State.
Jyrwa also opposed the system of linking the Aadhaar number with NPR stating that it will have an impact on the minority communities in the State. He further stated that Aadhaar will have an impact on the privacy of a person as well.
