Theft cases at an all time high

SHILLONG: Shillong city is gradually turning into a den of criminal activities, with theft cases continuing to be reported everyday from across the city.
On July 15, unknown miscreants broke into the residence of one Md. Manitul Haque at Upper Lachumiere Block-II, Shillong and stole a TV set, an LPG cylinder, bank passbook, etc.
The same day, unknown miscreants stole Rs 14,000 from one Hilda Sujai at Iewduh.
In another incident, on July 11, unknown miscreants stole a wrist watch and gold necklaces valued around Rs 3 lakh from the residence of one N. Hynniewta at Lower Lumparing, Shillong.
Meanwhile, one Welesly Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that on July 18, 2016, his seventeen-year-old son along with one Frantiner Syngkli (20) stole Rs 1,00,400 from their residence at Warmawsaw village under Patharkhmah police station in Ri-Bhoi and also threatened the complainant with dire consequences.
Meanwhile, cases of vehicle thefts are also being regularly reported in the State.
In one such case on July 15 noon, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (AS18 B 8912) belonging to one Ramson Marak from a parking place near SBI Tikrikilla in West Garo Hills.   On the night of July 14, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero Pickup (AS01 GC 8399) belonging to one Md. Saifar Ali from Nidanpur village in the same district.
