Rotary Club conducts blood donation camp

SHILLONG: A blood donation camp was organised on July 19 by Rotary Club of Shillong in collaboration with the Pasteur Institute, Shillong, under the Directorate of Health Services (Research), Meghalaya Government.
Rtn (Dr) Rakesh Puri, director, public relations, RC Shillong in a statement issued on Friday said that 17 volunteers donated blood for the benefit of the poor and needy patients and each donor was given a certificate of appreciation by the Pasteur Institute.
The president and members of the Club thanked the Pasteur Institute, team of doctors who actively participated in the camp. The club provided refreshments and even haemoglobin tonics to the donors.
A short volunteer awareness and motivation session about the importance and safety of periodic blood donation was held with the objective to nurture future blood donors.
