SHILLONG: Members of the Joint Action Committee of All Teachers’ Association of Meghalaya (JACATAM) will begin their agitation by staging dharna at their respective schools in all district headquarters of the State from July 27-29.
The JACATAM is protesting against the alleged indifferent attitude of the State government to its demand for provincialization of services of over 14,000 teachers of 4500 ad hoc, deficit and government aided schools in the State.
In a statement issued to the press on Sunday, JACATAM publicity secretary Babu Kular Khongjirem asserted that the agitation will not disrupt regular classes.
