Exhibition
The District Level Science Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children 2015-16 will be held on July 27 and District Level Science Exhibition under RMSA 2015-16 will be held on July 28 and 29 on the themes ‘Science and Mathematics for inclusive development’ and ‘Science and Technology for global sustainability’ respectively at Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Jail Road from 11 AM.
Workshop
BBS College conducted a multilingual creative writing workshop in English, Hindi, Nepali and Khasi on July 23-24 at Babu Mani Singh Auditorium, Mawprem, Shillong. The resource persons were Prof. M. Ranganathan, Prof. T.K. Choubey and Prof. S. Dkhar, from NEHU and Dr. K. Sharma from Gauhati University. The workshop was attended by students and teachers of various departments of the college.
Consultation
The North East Dialogue Forum will be holding a day long consultation on uranium mining and construction of mega dams on July 27 at the Presbyterian Church of India conference hall, Lachumiere, Shillong, to be followed by a press conference at the same venue at 3:30 PM.
Quran recitation
The Shillong Muslim Union will organise a Holy Quran recitation on the premises of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Islamic Library and Information Centre, Madina Mosque, Shillong on July 27 at 9:30 AM to mark the first death anniversary of the former President.
Prayer festival
The Jesus Calls Shillong Prayer Festival will conduct a special thanksgiving Service on July 31 at Students’ Field, Jaiaw. Service timings will be 11 AM and 4 PM.
