SHILLONG: The Mendi-pathar legislator Marthon Sangma is contemplating to move court against the former legislator Frankenstein W Momin for the alleged misuse of MLA fund even after Momin was defeated in 2013 Assembly polls.
Sangma on Tuesday alleged that Momin as an ex-MLA had issued Utilization Certificates (UCs) for the developmental projects under SRWP 2012-13.
Momin who had contested from Congress was defeated by Sangma (NCP) in 2013 Assembly polls.  According to Sangma, the order of the state government is very clear that when a legislator is no more serving his constituency, as far as the implementation of pending scheme is concerned, the concerned BDO himself should issue the necessary UCs, which need to be duly countersigned by the Deputy Commissioner after verification.
Sangma said that he would urge the Court to order an inquiry by an independent agency into the matter.
The allegation of Sangma is that even after demitting the office, Momin in collusion with the Block Development Officer fraudulently released the second installments for the SRWP scheme 2012-13
Sangma said that the North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner had failed to take necessary steps regarding the release of second installment of the scheme amounting to over Rs 11 lakh for the work not done on the basis of the UCs issued by the ex-MLA which is irregular.
He also alleged that the photographs of the project taken and shown as completed were either from the NREGS works. Some photos reveal that they were SSA and LP School buildings.  Sangma said that if his allegations are wrong, Momin is free to drag him to court.
