Demand for medical superintendent’s removal

SHILLONG: The non-medical staff of Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital have served a two-week deadline for removal of David D Tariang, medical superintendent of the hospital.
Speaking to reporters after submitting the deadline to Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Assembly (KJPA), senior staff of the hospital Basukshisha Syntengumwi said,   “We have served them a deadline and if the authorities at KJPA are unable to fulfill our demands we will resort to some other course of action”.
She added that KJPA Senior Administrative Secretary Rev NS Phawa has assured them that the Executive Committee of the KJPA will look into the matter as well other grievances of the employees.
Syntengumwi stated that the non medical staff of the hospital had lost confidence in Tariang following various anomalies in the hospital including shortage of medicines, lack of equipment etc.
