Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said it was good that Home Minister Rajnath Singh will travel to Pakistan for the SAARC ministerial conference as the two countries need to remain engaged.
“Good to see that in spite of the rants on TV & the trolls on Twitter @rajnathsingh will travel to Pakistan,” Omar wrote on twitter.
He was reacting to reports that the Home Minister will go to Pakistan to attend the SAARC conference.
“We need to remain engaged,” Omar said.
Rajnath will be on a two-day visit to Islamabad to attend the SAARC ministerial conference beginning August 3.
In an earlier tweet, the opposition National Conference working president hit out at Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
“Nice to see her looking so happy with the mess she has made of the state. I guess remorse is expecting too much!” Omar said.
He was commenting on a photograph showing a smiling Mehbooba Mufti heading towards her PDP’s office for the 17th foundation day of the regional party. (PTI)
