Ahmedabad:  Fourteen minor girls fled from the Gujarat government-run Children’s Home for Girls in Odhav area here on Friday evening after throwing chilly powder on the warden’s face but police succeeded in tracing six of them. Search was on for the rest of the girls, said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-5, Girish Pandya.
“These 14 girls, all under 18 years of age, acquired keys of the lock after throwing chilly powder on woman warden’s face, and opened the main door,” he said.
“After learning about the incident at around 8 PM, we searched nearby areas and found six of them. The search is on for remaining eight. We have alerted police (in other areas) to keep a watch at bus stops and railway stations,” the DCP added. (PTI)
