Now duping in the name of installation of mobile tower

SHILLONG:  A person was duped on the pretext of installing Airtel mobile tower in his premises at Nongrimmaw, Laitumkhrah.
Brainton N Marak lodged a complaint that on June 26, he received two separate calls from a woman and one Susanto Das of Bharti Airtel, Kolkata, informing him that the company intended to install Airtel mobile tower in his premises.
They directed him to send copies of his land documents, PAN card, driving license and a cheque of Rs. 30,000 as trading license charges to be refunded after signing an agreement with the company.
After sending the documents and cheque by courier, again on July 11 the complainant was directed over phone to deposit another Rs.72,000.
In this connection, the complainant after meeting Zonal Manager, Airtel Shillong realized that he was cheated by fraudsters.
