Coal-laden trucks seized in WJH

JOWAI: Illegal transportation of coal from Jaintia Hills District to Assam continues unabated despite the ban imposed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
West Jaintia Hills Police seized two coal-laden trucks on Wednesday morning. The police said the owner of the truck has been identified as Koneos Lyngdoh Sohkymphor of Pohskur village in the district. The drivers were identified as Wandahun Lyngdoh of Pohskur village and Cibernadus Lytep of Rtiang village. West Jaintia Hills Police chief R Muthu said a case has been lodged against Koneos Lyngdoh and his drivers.
