SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) has issued a 15-day deadline to the United Bank of India to appoint a ‘local branch Manager’ at the Mawlai branch of the bank.
A delegation of FKJGP on Thursday met the Bank authorities and submitted a memorandum demanding that the present Mawlai Branch Manager Manish Ojha be replaced by a local resident of the state.
The pressure group argued that most of the residents of Mawlai have faced communication problems with the past managers who were not familiar with the local language.
